CALL FOR ARTICLES
Submission Deadline: October 16th, 2020

INTRODUCTION
In the current times of polarization, the resurgence of nationalist agendas, and a desire to integrate into a prevailing globalization, the relationship between Mexico and the United States reflects the changing world in which we live. Although relations between our countries oscillate between times of constant closeness and distance, the depth and relevance of the bi-national agenda remains present in these troubled times. This situation has brought about an ambitious motivation to delegitimize geographical and physical barriers, separatist and discriminatory power, and strengthen our relationships through this magazine to produce a critical, practical proposal, thoughtful and theoretically documented. Our proposal arises from a collaborative bi-national and inter-institutional work. Mexico and the United States share not only a geographical border that separates them, but also cultural, economic, commercial ties and academics that bring them closer.

Among these ties, the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), through
Languages in Context and The University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) through the Texas Language Education Research (TexLER) conference have joined forces since 2019  to make the voices, experiences, and knowledge of TexLER participants visible. The publication of the research papers presented in TexLER reflects critical reflection and educational practices in both contexts, thus narrowing the proximity of these countries and institutions. The Facultad de Lenguas at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), Mexico and the Bicultural-Bilingual Studies Department at The University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA) cordially invite all authors of accepted proposals to be presented at TEXLER, 2020 to submit their original articles to be considered for publication in a special issue of the Lenguas en Contexto journal published by Facultad de Lenguas BUAP. This special issue aims to address Harmonizing Interdisciplinary perspectives for culturally and linguistically diverse agents in Language Education by providing an in-depth conceptualization of these topics and their implications on education.

Lenguas en Contexto is an indexed publication in the Latindex System and all articles go through a double-blind peer review for their evaluation and publication.
