Guidelines for Presenters

Please follow these guidelines to help you prepare for your presentation at the TexLER 2023 conference while ensuring a smooth and well-managed session.

  1. Your presentation is allocated: 
           a. 
    20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session (for research-based and practice-oriented presentations)
    ​       b. 
    40 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session (for workshop)
  2. At the registration area, Presenter Check-In is available to provide you with assistance regarding your presentation. 
  3. Ensure you arrive in the conference room at least 10 minutes before the start of your session.
  4. Locate the session chair for your session upon arrival and check in with them so that they know you are present. 
  5. Onsite presentation management is available to assist you in your session. Please load your presentation onto the conference computer in advance for a seamless transition between presenters. 
  6. We recommend uploading your presentation slides to your  OneDrive, Google Drive, or bringing your presentation on a portable memory device. Connecting your own laptop to the projection system is generally not possible.
  7. If you require assistance with uploading or presenting, technicians will be available at Presenter Check-In and in your assigned conference room.
  8. The timekeeper will signal you with a green card as a 5-minute warning and a red card to indicate the end of your presentation.
  9. Following your presentation, the session chair will moderate a 5-minute period for questions and discussions.
  10. Your certificate of presentation will be awarded immediately after your session.

Please follow these guidelines to help you prepare for your presentation at the TexLER 2023 conference while ensuring a smooth and well-managed session.
​
  1. Your presentation is allocated:
    1. 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session (for research-based and practice-oriented presentations).
    2. 40 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session (for workshops).
  2. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and a quiet environment for your online presentation. Test your microphone, camera, and screen-sharing capabilities before the conference.
  3. Remember to check your time zone for your scheduled presentation.
  4. Make sure you have installed the most updated Zoom application. For your Zoom account, please follow this naming convention,  Presenter_Last Name, First Name (e.g., Presenter_Estrada, Olga)
  5. On the day of your presentation, ensure you are in your assigned Zoom room at least 10 minutes before the start of your session.
  6. Make contact with the session chair so they are aware of your presence, make you a Co-host to enable your screen sharing, and introduce you when the time comes.
  7. A virtual help desk will be available for uploading and presenting your materials. If you encounter technical difficulties, inform your session chair immediately.
  8. The session chair will send you a direct message five minutes before the end of your session. A second direct message will be sent to indicate the end of your presentation. Adhere to the allocated time to ensure a smooth flow of the conference schedule.
  9. After your presentation, the session chair will moderate a 5-minute Q&A session for questions and discussions. Be prepared to engage with attendees.
  10. Your digital certificate of presentation will be awarded immediately after your session.
