The TexLER Resilience and Perseverance Award (TRP Award) ($100)

Description of the Award:
In recognition of the exceptional challenges presented by the numerous social inequities around the globe, the TexLER Committee has committed to offering the TRP Award to support students within our TexLER community.


Who can apply:
  1. Currently enrolled students, undergraduate, master and doctoral, who have demonstrated a commitment to progress in their studies, research, or community service. 
  2. Those applying to the Miguel Álvarez Award are also eligible to apply for the TRP Award. The essays may broach the same general topic but each different essay should clearly address the award question.
  3. All presenters and attendees who meet the above criteria are invited to apply.
  4. Any recipient's registration must be confirmed.
A $100 award will be conferred. Deadline to apply: October 1, 2025 at 11:59 pm CST
Note: All applicants will need to have registered by September 10, 2025 and are required to attend the conference.  

    TRP 2025 AWARD APPLICATION


    Write a short essay answering the following question: What has resilience and perseverance meant to you while navigating social inequities in your community as a language education student, scholar, and/or educator? Note: The length of the essay should be no more than 500 words. We encourage specific examples drawn from your most recent experiences. ​
